In 1910 Mary Macarthur led the Women Chain Makers to victory in a spectacular strike in the Black Country’s Cradley Heath. Macarthur was born in Glasgow in 1880 and became one of the labour movement’s most charismatic and inspirational figures. In this talk, author and independent historian, Cathy Hunt, talks about Mary Macarthur’s life and the relevance of her work to women today.
